Itinerary

🇪🇸Day 01: Barcelona

Park Güell, Barcelona, Spain
  • Arrival transfer to the hotel is included.
  • Note: The tour leader will be available when the activities start, so you will have free time until your tour begins. Please check for information about the tour at the hotel reception. Note that the order of the itinerary might change due to different circumstances, such as weather conditions or the need to improve the tour circuit.

🇪🇸Day 02: Barcelona, Madrid

Basílica de la Sagrada Família, Barcelona, Spain
  • City tour to see the top attractions of Barcelona, such as:
    • Columbus Monument 
    • Plaza de Cataluña 
    • Paseo de Gracia ( Passeig de Gràcia)
    • Avenida Diagonal 
    • La Sagrada Familia: Extra time to explore. 
    • Montjuïc
    • Plaza de España
    • Las Ramblas: Gothic Quarter 
  • Free time the rest of the day.
  • Departure to Madrid. Accommodation.

🇪🇸Day 03: Madrid

Prado National Art Museum, Madrid, Spain

Day 04: 🇪🇸Madrid, 🇪🇸Ciudad Rodrigo, 🇵🇹Porto

A wine cellar in Porto, Portugal
  • Depart Madrid. Travel through Castilla towards Portugal. Brief stop at the “Cuatro Postes Lookout” viewpoint for a snapshot of Avila’s impressive city walls.
  • Reach Ciudad Rodrigo near the Portuguese border. Explore this walled town, known for its charming streets and cathedral.
  • Leave Ciudad Rodrigo and cross into Portugal. Lunch break at a highway service area.
  • Arrive in Porto (Portuguese time). Embark on a two-hour guided city tour, highlighting:
    • Douro River
    • The UNESCO World Heritage old town: The Ribeira neighborhood.
    • The iconic iron bridge: Luís I Bridge.
  • Visit a historic port wine cellar.

Travel note: If passenger numbers are low, the Madrid-Porto way may be replaced with a flight, omitting the Ciudad Rodrigo stop.

🇵🇹Day 05: Porto, Coimbra, Batalha, Nazaré, Óbidos, Lisbon

Óbidos Old Town, Portugal

Morning:

  • Depart Porto
  • Reach Coimbra, Portugal’s third-largest city. Explore its ancient university, the University of Coimbra,  and steep, enchanting streets.

 

Midday:

  • Leave Coimbra
  • Arrive at Batalha Monastery, an impressive medieval structure and royal mausoleum. Option to tour the interior or admire the facade and browse nearby shops.

 

Afternoon:

  • Exit Batalha
  • Enter Nazaré, a cliff-top fishing town. Ride the elevator (Ascensor da Nazaré) to the old town for panoramic ocean and beach views. Enjoy lunch and leisure time.

 

Late Afternoon/Evening:

  • Depart Nazaré
  • Visit Óbidos, a picturesque walled village known for its castle, flower-adorned streets, and vibrant commerce.
  • Leave Óbidos
  • Arrive in Lisbon

🇵🇹Day 06: Lisbon

Bairro Alto, Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon Sightseeing Tour:

 

Morning: Embark on a comprehensive 2-hour guided tour of Lisbon, often called the City of Seven Hills. Discover the capital’s unique charm, characterized by its narrow streets, decorative tiles, nostalgic “Saudade” atmosphere, and distinct Atlantic light.

 

Key highlights include:

  • Edward VII Park (Parque Eduardo VII)
  • Baixa Pombalina district (Baixa de Lisboa), featuring Marquis of Pombal Square (Marques De Pombal) and Rossio Square (Praça do Rossio).
  • São Jorge Castle (view from afar)
  • Historic Alfama and Estrela neighborhoods
  • Basilica of Estrela
  • Iconic monuments: Monument to the Discoveries, Belém Tower, and the Jerónimos Monastery.

 

The tour concludes in central Lisbon, leaving the afternoon free for personal exploration. Consider these suggestions:

  • Ride the Glória Funicular to Bairro Alto.
  • Visit the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint for panoramic city vistas.
