Our day begins with an early morning stroll through Chambery, the charming capital of Savoy. This medieval-style city boasts a beautiful historic center and an impressive castle.
We then depart for Switzerland, reaching Geneva by mid-morning. As the hub of French-speaking Switzerland, Geneva is home to numerous international organizations, including the European UN headquarters. Our guided tour includes visits to the Palace of Nations (Palais des Nations), the picturesque English Garden (Jardin Anglais) with its iconic flower clock, and a view of the Jet d’Eau, Europe’s tallest fountain.
Leaving Geneva, we follow the shoreline of Lake Geneva through UNESCO-listed vineyard landscapes. Our next stop is the quaint walled village of Gruyères, famous for its cheese production. Here, you’ll have free time to explore and enjoy lunch. Nearby, we’ll visit the Cailler chocolate factory (Maison Cailler), one of Switzerland’s premier chocolate makers, where you’ll enjoy a sweet tasting.
In the afternoon, we continue through the stunning Swiss countryside to Chillon Castle, a medieval fortress dramatically situated on Lake Geneva. After touring the castle, we journey through picturesque mountain villages known for their traditional wooden architecture.
Our day concludes in Leysin, a charming resort town offering breathtaking Rhone Valley and Mont Blanc views. Known for winter sports and summer hiking, it’s an ideal spot to end our day. Dinner is included in our accommodation.
Please note that, depending on availability, we may occasionally stay in a different Alpine town, typically Martigny.
