Itinerary

Day 01 – Paris

Transfer to the hotel included. Free time until the tour guide contacts you.

Day 02 – Paris

  • Palace of Versailles – ticket not included. 
  • Neighborhood of Montmartre
  • Scenic view of Paris: 
    • Arc de Triomphe
    • Champs Elysées
    • Madelaine
    • Place de la Concorde
    • Opera
    • Louvre Museum
    • St. Jacques Tower
    • Town Hall
    • Ile de la Cite: Notre Dame Cathedral
    • Latin Quarter
    • Pantheon
    • Sorbonne
    • Luxembourg Gardens
    • Invalides – brief stop.
    • Military School
    • Champ de Mars – brief stop.
    • Eiffel Tower
  • Brief stop at a place in the center of the city.

Optional: attend an entertainment event at night.

Note: the Palace of Versailles is closed on Mondays, the visit will be rescheduled if necessary. 

Day 03 – Paris

Free day in Paris. 

Optional: visit the Latin Quarter or a walk next to the Seine River.

Day 04 – Paris/Geneva/Aosta

  • Travel to Geneva in Switzerland.
    • Lunchtime in Geneva.
  • Travel to Aosta in Italy.
    • Along the way: the Chamonix region and the Mont Blanc tunnel.  

Notes: 

  • Bring warm clothes from November to April.
  • Due to the limited availability of hotels in Aosta, the accommodation might be in a nearby city.

Day 05 – Aosta/Venice

  • Travel to Venice in Italy. Along the way: Po Valley and the outskirts of Milan.
    • Private boat to the historic center of Venice through the Giudecca Canal (Cannaregio, Castello, Dorsoduro, San Marco, San Polo, and Santa Croce).
    • Walking tour with a local guide:
      • Piazza San Marcos (St Mark’s Square)
      • Murano Glass Factory
    • Free time. 

Optional: take a Venice Gondola Ride.

Day 06 – Venice/Ravenna/Assisi/Rome

  • Travel to Ravenna, Province in Italy. Along the way: Venetian lagoon.
    • Visit the main basilicas of the city: Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, the Neonian Baptistery, the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare Nuovo, the Arian Baptistery, the Archiepiscopal Chapel, the Mausoleum of Theodoric, the Church of San Vitale, and the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare.
    • Free time in Ravenna. 
  • Travel to Assisi, a Town in Italy. Along the way: Apennine Mountains.  
    • Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi
    • Free time in Assisi. 
  • Travel to Rome, the capital of Italy.

Note: Dress modestly during the visit to the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Day 07 – Rome

  • Scenic view of Rome inside a tour bus:
    • Colosseum 
    • Arch of Constantine 
    • Theatre of Marcellus 
    • Campidoglio 
    • Roman Forum 
    • Circus Maximus 
    • Basilica of Saint Mary in Cosmedin
    • Republican Temples 
    • Baths of Caracalla

    • Santa Maria in Domnica 
    • Pyramid of Caius Cestius 
    • Porta San Paolo
    • Lungotevere Boulevard: Babylonian-style Jewish Synagogue

    • Saint Peter’s Square 
  • Free time in the afternoon. Optional: 
    • Tour to learn more about Saint Peter’s Basilica, Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel.
    • Tour of squares and fountains.
  • Transfer to the Trastevere Neighborhood at night.

Day 08 – Rome

Free day in Rome. Optional: tour to Naples and Capri.

Day 09 – Rome

Tour ends. Optional: reserve extra hotel nights per request.
