Itinerary

Day 01: 🇪🇸Madrid, 🇪🇸Granada

Alhambra Palace, Granada, Spain
  • After meeting the tour guide in Madrid at the pick-up spot (to be determined), you will travel to Granada, Andalusia.
  • Along the way, you will have a stop in Puerto Lápice, a small town mentioned many times in the book of Miguel de Cervantes Don Quixote de la Mancha.
  • Lunch is included in Granada.
  • Visit the Generalife Gardens and the Alhambra Palace.
  • Free time the rest of the day.
  • Optional: Walk in the Albaicín neighborhood. 

 

Note: 

  • By law, there is limited availability to enter the Alhambra Palace, so it is important to confirm your desire to visit this location when booking this tour package. An ID is required to enter the palace.
  • The tour leader will be available when the activities start, so you will have free time until your tour begins. Please check for information about the tour at the hotel reception. Note that the order of the itinerary might change due to different circumstances, such as weather conditions or the need to improve the tour circuit.

Day 02: 🇪🇸Granada, 🇪🇸Málaga, 🇪🇸Marbella, 🇪🇸Ronda, 🇪🇸Seville

Our journey begins early in the morning as we depart Granada, heading towards the Mediterranean coast. By mid-morning, we reach Málaga, where you’ll have time to explore its historic center, notably the impressive cathedral.

 

Leaving Málaga, we follow the coastal highway to Puerto Banús, an exclusive area within Marbella in the heart of Costa del Sol. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to stroll along the luxurious marina and browse the upscale shopping streets.

 

In the afternoon, we bid farewell to the coast and ventured inland towards the Andalusian mountains. Our route takes us through picturesque villages, offering stunning vistas along the way.

 

Our next stop is Ronda, a breathtaking white city famous for its deep gorge that splits the town in two. You’ll have time to wander its charming streets and take in the dramatic scenery.

 

As we leave Ronda, we continue our journey through the beautiful landscapes of hills and white villages characteristic of this region.

 

Our day concludes with an evening arrival in Seville, where dinner will be served at our hotel.

 

This itinerary offers a diverse taste of Andalusia, from coastal resort towns to dramatic mountain cities, showcasing the region’s rich cultural and geographical diversity.

Day 03: 🇪🇸Seville

Catedral de Sevilla, Spain

Our exploration of Seville promises to be exceptional, offering a unique blend of transportation modes. We’ll combine coach travel and walking tours with a scenic boat ride along the Guadalquivir River, providing unparalleled views of the city’s iconic landmarks and attractions.

 

A knowledgeable local guide will accompany us, sharing insights into Andalusia’s capital, its rich history, and vibrant culture while showcasing the city’s most captivating spots. The tour kicks off around 9 AM, covering key sites such as:

 

  • Catedral de Sevilla
  • La Giralda: The bell tower of Seville Cathedral.
  • Barrio de Santa Cruz: A former Jewish quarter.
  • Guadalquivir riverbanks
  • Torre del Oro
  • Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla

This comprehensive tour, including the boat excursion, lasts approximately 3 hours. Afterward, you’ll have free time to explore on your own. Day 04: 🇪🇸Seville, 🇪🇸Mérida, 🇵🇹Évora

Roman Theater, Mérida, Spain

Our journey begins as we depart Seville in the morning. We travel through picturesque landscapes of rolling hills and expansive meadows towards the Extremadura region.

 

By late morning, we will have arrived in Mérida, Extremadura’s capital. Here, we’ll explore the impressive Roman Theater and Amphitheater complex (Teatro Romano de Mérida), a UNESCO World Heritage site. These remarkably well-preserved structures are the largest of their kind on the Iberian Peninsula and offer insight into the importance of entertainment in ancient Roman provinces. Mérida’s lively pedestrian historic center provides an ideal setting for lunch and leisurely exploration.

 

In the afternoon, we leave Mérida, passing through beautiful dehesa landscapes as we cross into Portugal and enter the Alentejo region.

 

Our final destination is Évora, which will be reached late in the afternoon (accounting for the time change). As one of Portugal’s oldest cities and a UNESCO World Heritage site, Évora is captivated by its historic center. You’ll have time to wander its white-washed streets, admire the cathedral and ancient churches, and soak in the ambiance of southern Portugal. Don’t miss the unique Chapel of Bones, an eerie yet fascinating structure constructed using over 5,000 human skeletons.

 

This itinerary offers a blend of ancient Roman history, medieval charm, and distinctive Portuguese culture, showcasing the diverse heritage of the Iberian Peninsula.

Day 05: 🇵🇹Évora, 🇵🇹Marvão, 🇵🇹Castelo de Vide, 🇵🇹Tomar, 🇵🇹Fátima

Begin with breakfast, then explore Coimbra’s historic center. As Portugal’s third-largest city and home to one of the world’s oldest universities, Coimbra offers a rich tapestry of academic heritage, charming streets, and vibrant student life.

 

Midday:

  • Depart Coimbra
  • Visit Batalha Monastery, a crucial landmark in Portuguese history. Your ticket grants access to this medieval royal mausoleum. Admire its impressive architecture, explore the interior, or browse nearby shops.

 

 

Afternoon:

  • Leave Batalha
  • Arrive in Nazaré, a picturesque fishing town. 
    • Take the Nazaré Funicular (Ascensor da Nazaré) to the clifftop old town for panoramic ocean views. Ticket included.

  • Exit Nazaré

Important: Due to ongoing renovations, the Nazaré elevator is temporarily out of service. Coach transportation to the old town will be provided as an alternative.

Day 09: 🇵🇹Lisbon

Jerónimos Monastery, Lisbon, Portugal

Morning: Embark on a comprehensive 2-hour guided tour of Lisbon, often called the City of Seven Hills. Discover the capital’s unique charm, characterized by its winding alleys, decorative tiles, nostalgic “Saudade” atmosphere, and distinctive Atlantic light.
